for THERE AND NOT THERE – (Im)possibility Of A Monument
This work is for my mother’s father, who was killed during the Holocaust in an unknown location, and to all the other murdered Lithuanian Jews without burial places or gravestones. I imagined my mother as an unknown artist and attributed this found object to her work in her birth name that she had lost during the Nazi occupation in order to be saved.
